X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Hugh Jackman returns as Wolverine in the fourth installment of the X-Men franchise. The film focuses on the mutant character's violent past and his troubled relationship with his brother Victor Creed (Liev Schreiber). Director Gavin Hood, who is best known for his Oscar-winning film Tsotsi, says he is a fan of the Wolverine character, despite admitting he had never been a big comic book fan. "When I read the first line that he is so famous for, which is 'I'm the best there is at what I do, but what I do isn't very nice' I like that because it reflects a sort of uncertainty of his own inner nature. This is a guys who doesn't necessarily like himself very much, and I thought that was an interesting aspect to a hero." Despite getting mixed reviews, the film has been quite successful at the box office, grossing more than £227m worldwide. It has also just been released on Blu-Ray, featuring plenty of extra features including commentary by Gavin Hood, a conversation with Stan Lee and Wolverine co-creator Len Wein, deleted and alternated scenes and plenty of behind-the-scenes footage. The disc is also the first one to offer the Blu-Ray Live Look Up feature, which offers up-to-date inforomation on the film and its actors via IMDB, the Internet Movie Database.
