
(NECN: Katie Daly, Worcester, Mass.) - Faced with budget constraints the Worcester Police Department's special crimes unit will close in just two weeks. The special crimes division works on domestic violence issues, including child and elderly abuse cases. Six police officers make up the division. Each one of them is specially trained in handling domestic violence cases. Recently the division handled the Nathaniel Turner case. A seven-year-old boy who was allegedly beaten to death by his father. These abuse cases will now be handed over to patrol officers. read more
