Wolfram von Fritsch: Head of the Hannover Messe Trade Fair
Last summer, Wolfram von Fritsch took over as chairman of the board of Deutsche Messe, the organizer of major events like CeBIT, the world's biggest IT fair, and the IAA Commercial Vehicles fair. This will also be the first year that von Fritsch assumes responsibility for the Hannover Messe, the world's largest showcase for industrial technology. With the machine construction sector hard hit by the global downturn, Wolfram von Fritsch has his work cut out for him. In 2008 the Deutsche Messe ended the year with a 14 million euro loss. The new boss has announced there will be job cuts, but he has promised to deliver a good Hannover Messe. This year the show will run from April 20- 24 and the focus will be on "Energy Efficiency in Industrial Processes", as well as on partner country South Korea.
