I'm Andrea Rene with a look at some top stories in the U.S. It was a sad day for New England Patriot's fans after an upset victory by the New York Giants in Super Bowl 42. Before the game, many people thought the outcome would be a predictable one, you've got the Patriots, led by quarter back Tom Brady, going into the big game with a perfect 18-0 record. They had already beaten the Giants in regular season play, but New York quarterback Eli Manning made one of the most memorable plays in recent history by throwing a touchdown pass with 35 seconds left to go when New England fans had assumed the game was over, for a finally score of 17-14. Eli's big brother Peyton, who was named Super Bowl MVP just the year before and told him he thought it would go down as one of the greatest plays in Super Bowl history. Now the Manning brothers have back to back MVP titles and the 1972 Miami Dolphins remain the only team to have a perfect season. Rising fuel prices have affected many parts of the economy, especially air travel. Major airliner United Airlines announced today that they will begin charging some passengers to check more than one bag on most flights. As if paying for those overpriced snack boxes weren't enough, now ticket holders will have to pay $25 dollars to check a second bag, and prices for additional bags soared to $100 as well. Many of the major airlines in the U.S. have been getting creative with ways to boost profits during slumping sales. They are also trying to figure out ways to compete with discount carriers and the ever soaring costs of jet fuel. And ever worried that your cell phone or caffeine could cause cancer? Well worry no more because an Australian cancer specialitst has took it upon himself to devise a ranking system for cancer risks in an attempt to weed out popular myths about the prevalent disease. The cancer risk assessment confirms that having breast implants and wearing deodorant isn't as dangerous to your health as some organizations would have you believe, but reaffirms that smoking, drinking alcohol, and heavy sunlight exposure do still lead that pack of risk factors for cancer. The systems is based on a five star ranking system and determines which risks are proven and likely to those that are inferred or unknown.
