Eduardo scrambled a late winner as Arsenal fought back from going 2-0 down to win their opening Champions League Group H clash away to Standard Liege. The Croatia marksman had the final say as Arsenal recovered from a terrible start to open their group campaign with a morale-boosting away win. It had not looked good early on though as Eliaquim Mangala fired the hosts ahead before Milan Jovanovic netted from the penalty spot. Arsenal, without goalkeeper Manuel Almunia and forward Robin van Persie, fought back through Nicklas Bendtner, with Thomas Vermaelen and Eduardo securing victory with ten minutes to go.
