WEATHER: English coastal areas face potentially catastrophic storms

Potentially catastrophic flooding has been predicted for coastal areas in eastern England by the Environment Agency. The Environmental Secretary Hilary Benn said police were on standby to co-ordinate an emergency response, and residents in some areas of Norfolk and Suffolk have already been advised to seek shelter. This follows a period of low pressure which has already caused gales in Eastern Scotland.
