Vijay Kumar Achieves Additional Credential Of Medical Doctrine From Xavier University

When Vijay Kumar was awarded his medical doctrine degree at Xavier University School of Medicine, the achievement added to noteworthy academic and professional competencies. Kumar already held a doctorate in social sciences, a masters in physical therapy along with several post graduate degrees in medicine, and was recognized in 2004 as United States' Businessman of the Year Award. While pursuing his degree, Kumar continued his business of 17 years - managing four busy outpatient physical medicine and rehabilitation clinics offering a range of services covering physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and social worker services. He remained on the Xavier University President's list throughout his studies; the M.D. award was bestowed in an event in June held at The Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Ga. In 2006, Dr. Kumar by Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm to the Board of Physical Therapy, and his appointment has been extended through 2012 on in Michigan. He holds a position on the disciplinary subcommittee which oversees over 7,900 licensed physical therapists in the state. Selected as an alternate delegate in 2007 to the annual FSBPT (Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy), this year he attended as a delegate official. The FSBPT is a committee that represents all licensing authorities and the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy which strives to protect the public by providing service and leadership that promote safe and competent physical therapy practice. Noted for his patient-focused manner, hard work and ethical standards, Kumars roots stretch around the world to Bihar, India, where he is originally from. Dr. Kumar is a life member of the Indian Physiotherapy Association, member of the American Physical Therapy Association, member of the Michigan Physical Therapy Association along with various community associations.
