Varitek talks about Garciaparra's return to Fenway

(NECN) - Josh Beckett takes the mound Tuesday night, as the Sox host the Athletics. Monday night, Nomar Garciaparra para returned to Fenway and spoiled John Smoltz's home debut. After the game Red Sox Captain Jason Varitek spoke about Smoltz performance and how it felt to see Garciaparra back in Fenway Park. The former Sox shortstop had two hits including an RBI single and Smoltz struggled. He allowed five runs on 10 hits in six innings. Brett Anderson threw a complete game two-hitter and Oakland won 6-0.
