USA: Zach Braff stars in Italian remake "The Last Kiss"

Zach Braff, star of television comedy "Scrubs," plays a man turning 30, facing fatherhood and going a little crazy in his new movie, "The Last Kiss." The film is based on the 2001 Italian film of the same "L' Ultimo Bacio" and all came together after co- star of the new American film went to check the original out. "I saw the original when it was out in the cinemas here and just feel in love with it and I remember coming out of it with my fiancee at the time and just feeling like resonated with things we were feeling and things are friends were going through. It was just a really honest portrayal of turning 30. I called Tom Rosenberg who is the head of Lake Shore (Entertainment) and I said you have to see this movie it's amazing and he called me the next day and said that he had acquired the rights, " actress Jacinda Barrett said in Los Angeles, California. The role is a far cry from the real 31 year old Braff whose movie , "Garden State," which he wrote, directed and starred in, became a hit in art house cinemas. Movies like "Last Kiss" give him the chance to work with other directors (in this case, Tony Goldwyn) and writers (Oscar winner Paul Haggis from "Crash") from whom he can learn, Braff said. "Paul Haggis did a phenomenal job of adapting the script. Obviously we needed to Americanize it and there things that would play in Italy that would never play here. One of the big changes was in Italy he never comes clean.. I think that one of the things that works about the movie is that, even though people are on the edge of their seats , is that Michael comes clean about what happens which helps even though it ruins his chances of getting her back he realizes I think the audience will appreciate he realizes how much he messed up," Braff told Reuters. In "Last Kiss," Braff portrays an up-and-coming executive named Michael whose seemingly perfect life is thrown into chaos when he meets a college girl. Michael's loving girlfriend is pregnant with their first child. Marriage and a domestic life await, only Michael is not sure he wants either. The drama, in which Braff co-stars with Blythe Danner, Jacinda Barrett, Rachel Bilson, Casey Affleck and Tom Wilkinson explores human nature and personal relationships. "Yes definitely I think everybody goes through that at different ages at 20 you go through it and 30 you got through it, at 40 you got through it. I think it was nice to have that in this film how so many different people going through so many different things but everybody is going through something. No what the age or mo matter what it was", Bilson said. ends
