USA: The Police rock Live Earth

The rock band Police got back together to perform at the Live Earth concert in New Jersey - their message in a bottle: recycle. One of the most eagerly anticipated sets at the Live Earth concerts was the apperance of the Police. The rock band reformed for the gig in the United States at New Jersey. Millions watched the event around the world. Other stars included Madonna, Bon Jovi, Shakira and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Spearheaded by environmentalist and former U.S. vice president Al Gore, the concerts spanned over 22 hours, ending at Rio's Copacabana beach and the Giants football stadium, New Jersey. Following the model of 1985's Live Aid and Live 8 in 2005, Live Earth hopes to reach up to two billion people through radio, television and the Internet.
