Firefighters battled a massive fire at an oil plant in Iowa on Thursday (October 26, 2006). Explosions erupted inside the Stern Oil Company in Council Bluffs starting early Thursday morning, causing thick black smoke to engulf the area. Fire officials were called to the warehouse, which stores motor oil, bulk oil and air filters, around 4:30 a.m. No employees were injured, however, one firefighter was treated for smoke inhalation. So far, the cause of the fire is unknown.
