USA / DEFENCE: B-52 bomber flies loaded with armed nuclear missiles

Four senior US Air Force officers have been stripped of their command for allowing a B-52 bomber to fly the length of America, loaded with six fully armed nuclear missiles. The warheads were flown from a base in North Dakota to another in Louisiana - a distance of almost 1200 miles - before the mistake was discovered. The B-52 was only meant to ferry cruise missiles without nuclear warheads.
