A tornado ripped through Nicollet county, Minnesota on Thursday night (August 24) killing one person and injuring several others. The tornado, which was caught on home video, also damaged several homes and cars, uprooted trees, and ripped off roofs of at least a dozen homes. The strong winds also knocked out power lines, leaving may residents without power in the southern part of the state. "There ain't nothing you could say. It happens. The good Lord wanted it. He took it. You can't do nothing about that. All you can do is pick up the pieces," Doug Lukes said, who lost his home to the tornado. It destroyed more than a dozen homes. The National weather service confirmed three tornado touchdowns in the area. Several people were treated at hospitals for broken bones and other injuries that were not life-threatening. Minnesota's governor Tim Pawlenty is expected to tour the storm-damaged areas later on Friday (August 25).
