
BOSTON (AP) - Boston fire officials have grounded two more ladder trucks because of concerns about their brakes. A Boston firefighter died Friday when his ladder truck went out of control and crashed, and the brakes are a focus of the accident investigation. Four of the department's 22 ladder trucks have been taken out of service this week after they were found in need of brake work. The department is inspecting its fleet and the firefighters union also has hired an outside consultant to look at the vehicles. read more
