Twins for proud panda Shu Qing

A panda has been filmed giving birth at her breeding centre in China and has delighted staff by producing not just one cub, but two.The twins were born to proud mother Shu Qing at the Giant Panda Breeding centre in Sichuan Province.Just over 1,500 of the cute critters are left in the wild, all of them in China.Another 180 have been bred in captivity - more than 20 alone in the last year. The tiny pink and almost hairless cubs were taken straight from their mother and placed in incubators to ensure their survival while staff were keen to make sure mum was okay too.Last month, another panda, Bing Bing, gave birth at the age of 21. The animals can normally start to breed by the age of four.© Independent Television News Limited 2007. All rights reserved.
