The majority of the clothes we wear are made from cotton, yet hundreds of farmers die from the use of pesticides when growing it each year. Organic cotton is seen by eco fashion brands and the Pesticide Action Network as a solution to the environmental and social impact pesticides are having on farmers in developing countries. So how does organic cotton differ from conventional and will shoppers buy it?
