Torino 2006 CC - Castellani's Closing Speech And Intruders

The official speeches of the Torino 2006 Olympic Winter Games closing ceremony began here. First, the introduction of the winter athletes that became IOC members. They were: - Rebecca (Beckie) Scott of Canada. She has been promoted to be part of the IOC Coordination Commission for the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics; and, - Saku Koivu of Finland. He is currently the team captain of the National Hockey League's (NHL) Montreal Canadiens. Scott is seen here, but not Koivu. Before Valentino Castellani read his closing speech, IOC President, Jacques Rogge, awarded him an Olympic Order in Gold. This speech is infamous for the intruders that tried to interrupt the moment for their benefit. As you can see at the beginning, there are two microphones on the stand. At around the 6:18 mark of this clip, one of the intruders is seen being wrestled by security and one of the microphones was taken out of commission. As for that person, his fate is unknown in the end. However, Castellani seemed to be unfazed by the idiotic incident.
