What do Marvel comics and musical theatre share in common? The rarity of truly legendary pair-ups! We've had a ton, but only a select few go down in history, like Chenzel (Kristen Chenowith and Idina Menzel), Laderick (Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick) and Rascall (Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp). But now, we have a new "Marvel super-hero" pair-up that will go down in the history forever; Siebtaglia! I WANTED to post this for the official Broadway Opening Night for Shrek the Musical, starring Brian D'Arcy James as the big green guy himself, Daniel Breaker as Donkey, Sutton Foster as Fiona (may this show remain safe from her show-closing powers), Christopher Sieber as Lord Farquaad and John Tartaglia as Pinocchio! But the dumb copyright people wouldn't let me! Oh, well, better late than never! Anyway, to celebrate their Broadway reunion, here are Basil and Root as Frederick Fronkensteen and Igor (another legendary pair - Roger Bart and Christopher Fitzgerald) singing Together Again! I own nothing in this video, blah blah blah. The song belongs to the creators of Young Frankenstein, and the whole CD was produced by some group called UMG, and the clips are from Johnny and the Sprites, which belongs to John Tartaglia (he was the creator, producer, and star). Oh, and two trivia facts; 1) Chris and Johnny make a cameo appearance together in the video, but Chris may not be completely recognisable because he guest-starred on Johnny and the Sprites as a green Make-a-Mess Troll (try saying THAT five times fast!), and 2) Sutton Foster also starred in Young Frankenstein as Inga and guest-starred in Johnny and the Sprites as his sister Tina! BTW, there WILL be a video called "Roll in The Spoffle" coming soon-ish, along with other stuff. But for now, enjoy! And to the cast, crew, and creative team of Shrek the Musical; SEE YOU AT THE TONY'S!!! You were INCREDIBLE!!!
