Albert Arnold Gore, Jr. (born March 31, 1948) is an American environmental activist, author, businessperson, former politician, and former journalist. He served as the forty-fifth Vice President of the United States from 1993 to 2001 under President Bill Clinton. Gore is the recipient of a number of awards including the Nobel Peace Prize (together with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) in 2007, a Primetime Emmy Award for Current TV in 2007, and a Webby Award in 2005. He also starred in the 2006 documentary An Inconvenient Truth, which won an Academy Award in 2007.
