The Power : My Tribute to Manowar

For those who might be interested in watching me and my Summoned Twins play-along with Manowar... Original Music (playing in background) by Manowar : The Power on the album Louder than Hell. (Composer: Joey DeMaio). Everything else by Fred A. How do you play Heavy Metal? Do you have to play a thousand notes at once? No! Just be plain, simple and powerful. Don't be afraid to use complex chords over basic power chords, use the tremolo wisely and never, never try to play the exact same note as the Band does. Improvise, elaborate, learn the bassline to add harmonies, be creative, and don't let mere skills and technique stop you : if you can't play it, fake it! Listen to the intro of the solo : I never play the complex structure Karl Logan plays, but I start on the right note and slide wisely to the appropriate root. I improvise my own solo based on Karl's incredible solo, but I don't try to upstage him, I follow his lead and try to finish on the same note(and I must use the Alembic to hit that final note, so I do...) I let my creativity guide me, and I thank Manowar for making me see music that way : a complex web of sounds blended together with tremendous power. I just wish I could play without too many errors for once... I'll choose an easier song next time! Hail to the Kings! Guitarguruteacher A.K.A. mrfred24
