This film looks at the history and rĂ´le of The National Gallery, London, through the eyes of those who work in it and visit it: trustees such as the Prince of Wales, the director Neil MacGregor, the artist Howard Hodgkin, architects Robert Venturi and Denise Scott-Brown, and members of the public. Archive footage is combined with a behind-the-scenes look at the gallery's work, especially the scientific and conservation departments.
