The Decent
This short video shows the actual decent of the Escalante Staircase . At the time of our visit the road down the cliff face was still under construction, to turn back would have meant a 300 mile return journey and even then a completer reorganisation of our Journey, And so after a lot of thought and deliberation It was with some trepidation we commenced our journey downwards, on the way down we passed the Forman on his way up, startled as he was, it took him some time to realise what was going on, by which time we had disappeared somewhere out of site along the cliff face. Lookout for the huge boulder precariously balanced atop the cliff face, I shudder to think what would have happened had this come hurtling down/Enjoy
