The Dana Carvey Show: Episode 3

After a musical introduction by ingredients of the soft drink Mountain Dew, Dana fields audience questions on topics ranging from his use of New York City's subways to his talent as a drummer. With guest star Phil Hartman as talk show host Larry King, Dana is Ross Perot fielding pointed questions about his run for the presidency in 1996. Then, in The 11 O'Clock News That's Easy To Take, Dana and company skewer the state of local TV news, using a host of puppies, kittens and birds as they put a happy face on some serious stories. Following a suggestive and probing commercial for sponsor Mountain Dew, Dana portrays news anchor Ted Koppel for a look at presidential candidate Bob Dole's announcement of a vice presidential running mate who's even older then he is. The show then turns to Academy Award presenters Susan Sarandon and Gregory Peck as they struggle to make themselves understood to the quartet of foreign nominees. Finally, Grandma the Clown shows an aging clown's struggle to keep her young audience entertained.
