The 3 Kings (Los Reyes) in Xativa

http://custom-4u-properties.blogspot.com/ Spanish children have to wait a little longer for their Christmas presents, because its not Father Christmas but Los Reyes Magos, (the 3 kings) who bring their presents on January 6th. Most towns have an evening parade on January 5th featuring the Kings and their entourage, with the Kings riding on floats, horseback or camels. When the children go home to bed they leave treats for the Kings, and maybe grass and carrots for the horses and camels. In the bible the 3 Kings followed a star, travelling from the East to find the baby Jesus, bringing him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. Traditionally the Kings are Melchor, the oldest king who has white hair and a full white beard, Gaspar who is middle aged and has blond hair and beard, and Balthasar who is the youngest and is black. http://custom-4u-properties.blogspot.com/
