Scotland assistant manager Terry Butcher still has not forgiven Diego Maradona for his 'hand of God' goal 22 years ago. Butcher was part of the England team beaten 2-1 by Argentina in the quarter-finals of the 1986 World Cup, when Maradona got away with punching the ball into the net. The former players will be head-to-head again this week because the legendary player has been appointed manager of the Argentina team that has arrived in Glasgow for a friendly. Butcher said: "When he was mentioned as the possible coach of Argentina, my reaction was 'Phew, here we go'. "I wouldn't want to speak to him. We've got to share technical areas but for me it's about being available and being organised for Scotland. "It's a huge match for us. It's a huge global event because it's his first game. It's wonderful to be part of that but you don't want to be a small part of it." Butcher has told the Scotland players they will never forget this week's match. He added: "You will always remember this game against Argentina. With me it's for the wrong reasons, but hopefully for the rest of the boys it's for the right reasons on Wednesday. "I played against Argentina once and you remember that situation. The country remembers beating France twice and these things will always stay in your mind. "When you've finished playing football you look back and say: 'I was a part of that'. They'll feel a part of a special occasion on Wednesday."
