The alleged mastermind of a plot to bomb Britain said today he was happy when hijacked planes flew into the Twin Towers on 9/11. Omar Khyam told the Old Bailey he had mixed feelings when so many people died but America, he said, 'was and is the greatest enemy of Islam'. The court heard of Khyam's transformation from British schoolboy, a captain of cricket, into a radical muslim who ran away to the mountains of Pakistan to train in weapons and warfare. He is accused of leading a homegrown terror cell planning to blow up one of London's biggest nightclubs and a major shopping centre. Khyam and six others all deny the charges against them.
