United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, arrived in Damascus on Sunday (July 15) for a two-day visit to Syria. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and Syria's ministers of foreign affairs, finance and state presidential affairs and Syria's ambassador in Abu Dhabi were at Damascus International Airport to welcome the visiting UAE president. Sheikh Khalifa was accompanied by Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and State Presidential Affairs Minister Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. During his visit Sheikh Khalifa will discuss with his Syrian Counterpart bilateral relations and the latest developments in the region. Last year Syria signed nine agreements with UAE in the fields of communications, customs, transportation and e-learning in addition to agreements of cultural, educational and media. Khalifa is due to visit Algeria and France following his visit to Syria.
