Suwannee County Victorian

The McLeran House, a three story 1909 fully restored Victorian house, features original restored wainscoting, oak mantels, six fireplaces, hardwood floors and detailed woodwork trim doors. The restored 7 foot long windows have the original charactered glass, some containing stained and leaded glass. The kitchen boasts custom pecan cabinets, granite island and quaint breakfast nook overlooking the victorian cottage garden complete with archway and goldfish pond. Upstairs the cozy library already has custom built-in shelving, track lighting and a viewing balcony. The oversized attic also has the charm found in a home of this period. 15 foot ceilings, flooring and lighting allow for further expansion. The grounds, watered by a deep well irrigation system, contain a small producing pecan grove and majestic oaks that compliment the beautiful landscaping. Pick fruit from your personal orchard or fish from the deck of the stocked pond. Stroll past the gazebo with grill house and stop to relax in the covered swing. The McLeran House, situated on 4.5 acres, is zoned residential/commercial general. It has been home to a charming and busy bed and breakfast, with an antiques collectibles shoppe in the original barn located behind the house. A large, newer barn with attached greenhouse and newly finished studio provide additional room for hobbies or business. Renovations and additions over the past fifteen years included full re-plumbing, electrical re-wiring (including cable and addition of a whole house generator), leveling, brick surround, new air conditioning system for the 3200 square feet heated and cooled areas and new tin roof. A mudroom has been added and period wallpaper installed to complete the original feel. Centrally located between Lake City and Live Oak, the cities of Gainesville, Jacksonville, Tallahassee and Valdosta are all within a short commuting distance.
