Drug abuse continues to be a major problem in the US that the presidential candidates haven't been talking about. Treating drug addiction primarily as a medical problem is a priority for many counselors who work on the front line. Working in difficult conditions and often against the odds, the rewards of keeping addicts out of the criminal justice system is what keeps them going.
