Street Work Uncovers WW I Bomb
(DHA) Unexploded ordinance was found during natural gas work on Ataturk Street in Canakkale. The area was closed to traffic, and pedestrians and the bomb was removed. It was determined that the 250 kilogram device survived the Gallipoli Wars. A team from the Gelibolu 2nd Corps Command took the device to a quarry. It was destroyed using 20 kilograms of explosives...
