Stones roll on to Isle of Wight
The Rolling Stones are set play as the headline act in their first festival concert in over 30 years.Music fans on the Isle of Wight will be treated to the long awaited sight and may even catch a glimpse of soul singer Amy Winehouse who is rumoured to be joining the ageing band on stage.Thousands of festival goers have already been treated to the likes of Kasabian and Muse.The Stones are in the middle of their Bigger Bang tour which takes in 30 gigs across Europe, but it looks like they'll be making a bigger splash on the Isle.The legendary rockers arrived in Newport on a privately chartered ferry with an entourage of 200 including five Winnebago trailers and a private security team.NME journalist Mark Beaumont explained the prima donna behaviour doesn't end there: "Apparently they insisted in bringing their own stage, twice the size of the normal Isle of Wight Festival stage."But some fans were just happy the band had decided to play their first festival gig since Knebworth in 1976."They haven't played Britain's festival scene in 30 years, they're a cracking band.
