Democrat NY State Senator Liz Kruger, never at a loss for words, says she and her fellow Democrats are under orders to keep quiet about the indictment of her colleague, Sen. Hiram Monserrate, for the alleged slashing attack on his girlfriend. Monserrate was indicted Monday, 3/23/2009, on three felony counts, making him the first sitting state Senator in NY history to be charged with a violent crime while in office.
