SSG Alex Jimenez buried in New York

(NECN/ABC) - Army Staff Sgt. Alex Jimenez who died, after being captured during action in Iraq, was buried near his mother's home at the Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York. The 25-year-old was one of three soldiers taken captive in a May 2007 attack near Baghdad. Four other American soldiers and an Iraqi soldier were killed. Jimenez' body was discovered last month. The other captured soldiers also have been found dead. Sgt. Jimenez received a funeral Mass a week ago in Lawrence, Massachusetts where his father, Andy, lives. read more
