Tensions mount in the political and civilian arena as the countdown for the final Winograd Commission report gets underway. Israeli security officials expressed on Tuesday fears that the army will become the scapegoat of the final report, even though it was the first to draw conclusions and implement the lessons learned. Prime Minister Ehud Olmert insists he will not resign, and Defense Minister Ehud Barak said he will delay his announcement until after the final report, even though months ago he declared he would step down if Olmert fails to resign.01/29/08
