STORY: Cast and crew members of Slumdog Millionaire celebrate the news of the film having won 10 nominations for the Oscar Awards. The film is a rags-to-riches story about a boy from one of the city's teeming slums competing on a TV game show. It's been nominated for best director, best adapted screenplay and best picture at the Academy Awards, and seven other odd categories. [Anil Kapoor, Actor in the Film]: "It is something unbelievable, 10 nominations and also A R Rahman." Slumdog Millionaire already won four honours at the Golden Globes this month and these include awards for the best drama apart from being nominated for 11 BAFTA awards. The film's famed music composer A.R. Rahman alone picked up three Oscar nominations. [Danny Boyle, Film Director]: "It's is so wonderful for everybody. People have worked really hard on the film." Bollywood celebrities who attended the function congratulated the cast and crew members of the film for their unique achievement. [Aamir Khan, Indian Actor]: "I am very keen to see the film and I am looking forward to it. Congratulations to him (A R Rahman) and to the entire team." Boyle faced criticism for romanticising slums and peddling begging rackets, prostitution and crime as an index of Indian exotica. He says he was trying to capture Mumbai's 'lust for life.'
