Serb unease at Kosovo celebration
While Kosovo Albanians celebrated the first anniversary of the declaration of independence from Serbia, ethnic Serbs in the divided town of Mitrovica stayed at home, vowing never to submit to the authorities in Pristina. Serbs and Albanians live uneasily alongside each other in Mitrovica, divided by the Ibar River, under the protection of hundreds of foreign soldiers.
