English colonist John White's pioneering watercolor portraits of the Native Americans he and the Roanoke Island settlers encountered in the late 1500s rank among the most important documents of the exploration of the New World. The collection of more than 70 images hasn't been seen together for 40 years, which makes the new show at Jamestown Settlement a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see them.
