The Kyoto Protocol entered into force on 16/02/2005. It proposes a calendar for the reduction of 6 greenhouse-gases which are considered to be the cause of global warming over the last 50 years. It includes firm resolutions to reduce emissions in 38 industrialised countries, with a global reduction of 5.2% of carbon dioxide emissions by 2012. On the second anniversary of the Kyoto Protocol, the European Commission's audiovisual service is preparing an infoclip illustrating the following subjects: - industrial landscape with smoke billowing from chimneys - temperature graph showing global warming - rural landscape, filmed in January, showing the unseasonably early development of fauna and flora.
