Rove and Crow clash at WH gala

Hello, I'm Rebecca Field with a UPI entertainment update on this Monday, April 23, 2007. Singer Sheryl Crow and White House advisor Karl Rove reportedly clashed at a gala in Washington DC over the weekend. The Washington Post reports Crow and her friend, film producer Laurie David attended the White House Correspondent's dinner Saturday night. David reportedly approached Rove, urging him to pay attention to global warming...she says he was very rude to her. Crow then apparently joined in on the debate as well. But Rove had a different account...he says they insulted him. Celebrity couple Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo may be getting more serious. People magazine reports they've moved into a 2 bedroom condo in New York City together. They reportedly moved boxes through the rain last week...Lachey took the heavy lifting while Minnillo helped with the small stuff. Their reps would not confirm if Minnillo has also moved into his place in southern California. For the second weekend in a row, the horror film "Disturbia" has topped U.S. box offices. It was number one in theaters again bringing in more than 13 million dollars in ticket sales. The suspense film "Fracture" starring Ryan Gosling and Anthony Hopkins grabbed the number 2 spot. And "Blades of Glory" is still bringing in fans at number 3. British singer Amy Winehouse is engaged. Her boyfriend Blake Fielder-Civil popped the question with a diamond ring from Tiffany jewelers. The couple reportedly dated for two and half years before a brief break up. They got back together more than a month ago. 23 year old Winehouse told a British newspaper he proposed at home and it tok her a day to finally say yes. She says there's no set date or place yet. Pop star Madonna is back home in London after a 6 day trip to Malawi. She spent time there working with a charity to build children's health care centers. She also reportedly visited the orphanage where she first met her soon to be adopted son David...the singer is in the final stages of making that adoption official. It's unclear if Madonna met with David's biological father while she was there. One source from the orphanage says a meeting between them was cancelled.
