Rose Byrne on hit series Damages

Aussie actress and Damages star Rose Byrne says people still can't believe she is not American. The hit TV drama sees Byrne star alongside Hollywood legend Glenn Close as New York lawyers. The Sydney-born actress, who was nominated for a Golden Globe for Damages. has been known to slip into Canadian and British accents with ease in past roles and said sounding American was no problem. She said: "People can't believe I'm Australian. Their brains explode. They can't believe it. "We have a lot of American television - much more content in Australa than here in the UK. "We have the vernacular in our heads from a really young age and I think I've got a natural ear for it - and I've worked really, really hard to get it right."
