Every September, the Australian city of Brisbane holds it's annual Riverfestival, a 10 day long celebration of the Brisbane river and it's importance to the city. The highlight of this festival is Riverfire, a 30-minute long fireworks display choreographed to music which is played live over local radio stations. The display extends over a sizable stretch of the river, and is launched from numerous barges, the rooftops of office buildings in the city, and three of the major bridges spanning the river. The traditional highlight of the display is an afterburner flyover from an RAAF F-111 fighter jet, a spectacle which lights up the night sky and is audible from kilometers away. Presented for your enjoyment, we present the 2006 Riverfire display, as broadcast live on Channel 9.
