The summer may have been a washout for most of us, but R&B superstar Rihanna says the rain helped her song Umbrella cling to Number One.The smash-hit track stayed at the top of the UK charts for ten weeks, setting a record for the longest-running single in over a decade.Rihanna insists it was all to do with the drizzly weather, saying: "I'm very sorry, but I think that helped my song to stay at number one for so long."The Barbados-born beauty is now gearing up for a UK tour, taking in ten cities including Birmingham, Sheffield, Nottingham and Newcastle.She said: "I'm coming back on tour in December. We open up in Manchester first and then we cover the whole of the UK so I'm really, really excited about that."The star spoke of how lucky she was to work with a host of stars on her new album Good Girl Gone Bad including uber-producer Timbaland, Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z.Rihanna has just received two nominations for the Mobo awards and is up for five gongs at the MTV Music Awards in Las Vegas.© Independent Television News Limited 2007.
