(DHA) The sky was filled with smoke... The pine trees burned... Those responsible for a wildfire in the district of Meric in Edirne are not arsonists, they are two researchers from the Karadeniz Technical University and Duzce University Faculty of Forestry... Bahar Dinc and Ismail Baysal got permission from the Governorship for research and burned stubble near the red pine forest. The research fire turned into tree carnage with strong winds. Flames jumped to the red pine forest that residents carefully protected... The fire expanded and Dinc and Baysal tried to extinguish it, alongside the forestry workers with them... The fire couldn't be controlled even with the help of support teams required from Kesan and was doused with help from the air... A 30 hectare area burned. Many animals, whose living environment was destroyed, perished. The researchers detained in the investigation were released by the court to be judged at a later date...
