Red Sox acquire OF Hermida from Marlins

(NECN: Boston, Mass.) - The Boston Red Sox acquired 25-year-old outfielder Jeremy Hermida from the Florida Marlins for pitcher Hunter Jones and minor league pitcher Jose Alvarez, the team ammounced today. Hermida hit .259 with 13 home runs and 47 RBI in 2009 for the Marlins. The former first-round pick has been nagged by injuries in recent seasons, and has yet to meet the expectations the Marlins had for him when they selected him 11th overall in the 2002 draft.
