
EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Jet engine maker Pratt & Whitney says it will eliminate 1,000 jobs in Connecticut by 2011 as it transfers work to Georgia and Asia. It will shut its Cheshire, Conn., plant and shift some work from its East Hartford facility, transferring work to Columbus, Ga., Singapore and Japan.
