Powerful winter storm hits Maine hard
(Marnie MacLean, NECN) - Maine Governor John Baldacci has already declared a state of emergency in anticipation of widespread power outages. He said out of state utility companies are ready to step in and help with the effects of this storm. Trees have been downed, due to the weight of the ice that has frozen over the tree limbs. Icy road conditions are in no way bettered by the smattering of trees found on the roadways. Roughly 7,000 Maine homes are without power as of this report.
