Celtic's training session for Wednesday's (November 1) Champions League match with Benfica took place at the National Stadium where 40 years ago the Scottish team beat Inter Milan 2-1 to won the European Cup. After the training session, hundreds of Celtic fans poured on to the field of the National Stadium to remember the feat of 1967 along with 12 surviving members of manager Jock Stein's famous 'Lisbon Lions' side. In Lisbon's Rossio square, many of the estimated 12,000 Celtic fans who have travelled for the match poured into bars, drinking beer and chanting in a festive mood. A Celtic win over Benfica would more or less guarantee the Scottish team a place in the last 16 of the Champions League. Benfica, who have failed to score in their last five Champions League matches, share the bottom of Group F with FC Copenhagen. Both teams have one point each. The two times European Champions will seek revenge for their 3-0 defeat in Glasgow and grab a victory that would take them to within two points of second place. Benfica's Greek midfielder Giorgios Karagounis and veteran midfielder Rui Costa will miss the match as they are recovering from injury.
