The parents of four-year old missing Madeleine McCann attended mass on Sunday (May 20) It has been 16 days since their daughter disappeared from her hotel bedroom in Praia da Luz while they dined about 50 yards away. Before attending the service in the 16th-Century church of Nossa Senhora da Luz, near the seafront, Kate and Gerry McCann took their two-year old twins Amelie and Sean to the creche in the holiday complex where they are staying. The trip has become a daily routine for the couple who decided to remain in the Portuguese seaside village of Praia da Luz while the search for their daughter continues. Portuguese police said on Thursday (May 17) that they have insufficient evidence to arrest anyone in the hunt to find the kidnapper of the British girl. Police searched a villa on Monday (May 14) close to the resort complex from where Madeleine went missing and took a British man, Robert Murat, away for questioning, announcing the following day that he had been named as a formal suspect in the investigation. A two-minute video of Madeleine, set to the soundtrack of the Simple Minds hit "Don't You Forget About Me" was shown on big screens at the English FA Cup Final between Manchester United and Chelsea on Saturday (May 19). It was also screened at the UEFA Cup final between Sevilla and Espanyol in Glasgow on Wednesday (May 16).
