POLITICS: Terrorist suspects: Court of Appeal dismisses Home Secretary's attempt to overturn control ruling

His control orders amounted to virtual house arrest said the courts and the Court of Appeal agreed, dismissing the Home Secretary's attempt to overturn the ruling. John Reid had challenged an earlier judgement - that an 18 hour curfew imposed on 6 terror suspects breached their human rights. But the court of Appeal said there was 'no merit' in his objections. The Home Secretary has now been forced to reduce their curfew hours but says the government will appeal.
