Resident giraffes Lissy and Largo welcome their yet to be named baby boy at Warsaw zoo. The giraffe family at the Warsaw zoo has welcomed a new member to the fold with the birth of a new calf. The male baby, which is still yet to be named after the zoo organises a contest for the best name, is being cared for by his mother, Lissy. So far the calf cares only about keeping up to his feeding schedule so he can grow from just over two meters to almost six like his father Largo (Latin for large). Male giraffes can grow up to six meters tall and their life span varies largely between life in the wild and captivity. Giraffes in zoos generally live up to about 30 years.
